Friekermann

I see many versions of the spelling of my name, which in German is quite ordinary. A phonetic equivalent like Speakerman is the most frequent one. Last week in Boston, however, the lady at reception may have wanted to make a statement. Or she simply couldn’t read the type in my passport.

Good to hear from you, Andy.

Like every other comment, yours went straight into the spam filter. I need to check that a few times a day, or commentators get frustrated. I do intend to move over to WordPress very soon hoping that things will be better there. It certainly works well for our office blog.

    How’s things in Belfast?

  2. Do not worry :) She just had no idea about long S and the kerning between P and I was bad ;)

Spieking of spam, your problems may be solved by this effective spam filter: http://sblam.com/en.html

  3. A nice fresh install of 2.5 & Askimet dealing with your spam and you’ll never look back! If you’re ever stuck just fire me an email and I’ll do what I can!

Things are fine here, although all is quiet on the typography front – planning a return trip any time soon?

  4. @ Andy:
Askimet is installed but filters out almost everything. Like all the comments on this page ended up in the junk filter, whereas some of the comments for the Helvetica entry came through, but not al of them…

  5. @Eric – I’ve never, in all my years of running multiple WordPress installs, had anything but spam caught in Askimet. Maybe MT is making it feel uncomfortable :)

  6. That’s half the reason why I’ll be moving over to WP. We also have a lot of tools ready that we’re using on the project blogs in the office.
